Frequently Asked Questions

How long does counselling take?

I suggest you plan for a minimum of 6 sessions, by then you will have a good idea of the benefits counselling can bring. After that your journey can be as long or as short as you require. I believe you will know the right time to end your sessions and will happily follow your lead.

How do I book an appointment?

I offer a free initial session via Zoom or in person. This can be booked by sending me an email or text message. I am difficult to contact via phone without prior notice. I believe it's important that we are comfortable working together, and this session allows us to explore what it would be like and ask any questions relevant. This is a free session with no pressure or financial commitment clouding our judgment.

How much will it cost?

Is online as good as face to face?

Individual sessions

50 minutes - £60,

90-minute sessions - £100.

Couples' sessions

£75 for 50 minutes

£135 for 90 minutes.

Clinical supervision starting at £55, but to be discussed

Payable in advance via bank transfer if possible, but a card reader is available on the day.

I offer several spaces at concessionary rates; as you can imagine, these places fill quickly; however, please feel free to enquire.

Online counselling can be just as effective as face to face and definitely shouldn’t be overlooked. There are positives that come out of working online that you don’t get when working face to face, such as you get time to reflect about the session straight after and not have to jump in a car navigating traffic whilst heading home. That said either is is possible with me and i will happily be guided by your needs.

The benefits of seeing an Accredited Counsellor

An accredited counsellor is a professional who has demonstrated extensive training, clinical experience, and adherence to strict ethical codes by being officially recognised by a professional body such as the BACP. Because the title "counsellor" is not legally protected in the UK, accreditation provides an official benchmark of competence and trustworthiness. Seeing an accredited counsellor ensures you receive safe, ethical support from a practitioner who meets rigorous training standards. Benefits may include enhanced self-awareness, improved coping mechanisms for stress or mental health issues, and professional guidance to resolve harmful behavioural patterns.
